One weekend we decided to go visit my brother who is currently in Idaho. My family (like generations ago) hailed from the area we drove through on the way there. I was able to show Logan some family graves and even my great great grandfather's old house. I was pretty impressed with myself for knowing exactly where to go in the cemetery :) We also stopped at Dworshak Dam where I worked for a summer. It is huge! 717 feet tall and 3/4 of a mile long. We had lots of fun with Tyler. One night we stayed up way too late playing a game of Risk. I think it is out of my system for a very long time now.
We got back just in time to plan a last minute trip to Disneyland. Logan has an uncle who works for Disney and he was going to be down there that weekend watching his daughter perform in a choir competition. So thanks to him we got 3 days free Disneyland/California Adventure park!!! :) We are so lucky! We also had a couple days to explore Hollywood. (Note: Logan's short red beard, and sorry for the sideways picture)
The next weekend Logan's cousin was married and we had lots of activities going on with that. We even got to see Logan's mom for the weekend and that was a lot of fun. We will be glad when we are closer to both our families so we can see them more often. I can hardly believe we'll be moving in a little over a month!
Amongst all these adventures I am working nearly everyday substitute teaching and I have one interesting day I would like you to know about. So I get to the high school and am going to be teaching an art class. The class is supposed to start by drawing some sketches. One boy doesn't get to work so I go over and ask him to pull out his drawing pad and get to work. So he kind of scribbles. I figure, oh well, what else can I do. About 25 minutes into class a girl comes in late and tells me she's the TA. I tell her she is being recorded as absent because she had come in to late. She sits down anyway, right next to the boy that wasn't working. The talk for a while and then the boy starts turning around and saying these weird sexually harassing remarks to the girls around him, so I tell him knock it off or you're going down to the Principal. So he starts saying the things to me too. I've pretty much had it by then and am looking for a security number to have them come take care of the student when the TA leaves to get the mail and another student comes up and asks if I'd like him to go get security. Some time passes, the TA comes back and finds out security is coming and tries to get the boy out of class. I tell her he isn't going anywhere. Then the other guy gets back from getting security and tells me that they said they'd come but they think it isn't that big of a deal. By this time we figure the kid is on something because he is usually very quiet in class and today he is quite the opposite. So the security people come and take him and one guy comes over to me and says that a girl came to them and told them that I wouldn't let her help this kid get some fresh air. Yeah right! Like I'm going to let her get him off campus! She said "You gotta get out of here, you're going to get in trouble." (to the kid). Anyway, so the security guard thought I should have just let him get some fresh air...blah blah blah. Turns out the kid's body started to shut down because he was on a major drug and they sent him in an ambulance to the hospital. Good thing I didn't let the kid get some fresh air. Later that day I caught a kid stealing razor blades and a few other items. When I confronted him about it he pretended not to know what I was talking about. Eventually he started co-operating with me and I found out he had other items I didn't know about...what a day. Sorry for such a long story and I didn't put in nearly the details it needed :)
Come back later to see info for June, and be excited to hear about all the adventures we have planned for July!

Torrie,
Sounds like you have been pretty busy! I miss talking to you, but I never know when you will be home so I don't call. Hope you are doing well!
Wow, way to go! I never really thought I could cut it as a high school teacher - that's why I switched away from music ed.
Your trips sound like tons of fun! I'll let you know about my fun adventures in July!
Torrie, you are one B-A sub! You should apply for a job at NCIS.
I didn't know Logan could grow a beard!
I love your stories, but you still have to call me and tell me them because they're better over the phone. I'll try to have some for you :)
I didn't know I could grow a beard either! Crazy, huh?
The real question is why on earth did you let Logan grow a beard. Tanner knows he can either choose facial hair, or kisses. (That is why he is clean shaven most of the time.)
HOooray I found your blog!
Torrie
I can now view and comment on your log! I'm live!!!! Can't wait for more updates. Love you! Shellie
I was just thinking about you and wondering how you are doing?
